MELAGEN®
What is MelaGen®?
MelaGen® is a science proven lighting solution that enables people to artificially illuminate places of work and rest while enhancing our biological response to our circadian cycle.
Applying the right light at the right time will allow our biological clocks to maintain their balance and permit us to achieve restorative sleep and reap all of the associated health benefits.
MelaGen® is the light source borne out of a research collaboration with CRC for Alertness, Safety and Productivity and Monash University.

How to apply MelaGen®
MelaGen® has been carefully produced in three specifications, based on the type of environment that needs to be artificially lit. They are:
MelaGen® Blue luminaires feature specialised blue-enriched properties, providing sensational lighting properties for areas where a clear and focused mind is best, ultimately suppressing the release of melatonin.
This is ideal for:
- Schools
- Offices
- Emergency Settings (such as Police Stations, Hospital Work Areas, Fire Stations)
- Workplaces on rotating shifts (such as Food Processing, Fuel Stations, Manufacturing)
and more.
MelaGen® Refresh luminaires feature a completely blue-depleted lighting property while maintaining excellent colour recognition. The alluring warmth of MelaGen® Refresh is like a log fire or candlelight, providing a feel of wanting to be calm.
This is ideal for:
- Hospitality Settings (such as restaurants and bars)
- Hotels
- Rest Areas (in professional and personal settings)
- Aged Care / Medical
and more.
MelaGen® Regen is the fusion of MelaGen® Blue and MelaGen® Refresh, providing luminaires that can softly transition between blue-enriched and blue-depleted lighting.
Mimicing the same lighting cycle that our Circadian Rhythm prefers, MelaGen® Regen promotes optimal sleep cycles within permanently occupied spaces, such as:
